Gayatri Wellness Yoga Therapy focuses on practical teachings and guidance grounded in traditional yogic techniques. Classes are designed to support your journey towards a healthy body and mind and a life of peace and well-being.

When we come home to our body -  through movement, breath, nutrition and ultimately, stillness - we can release the old patterns keeping us stuck and move into a new, brighter future.

The tools:

Breath, body, attention - through pranayama (breath control and regulation), asana (postures), attention (awareful movement, breath, nutrition, habits and routines).

Brain and central nervous system, endocrine system, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, immune system, musculoskeletal system, vagus nerve, gut-brain axis.

The focus:

Healing & wellness, stress-relief, stress-management, relaxation, rest and recovery, restore and recharge, stability and balance, mood stabilisation, self-compassion, inner-strength, autonomy & self-reliance.

Practices are grounded in traditional yogic techniques spanning pranayama, asana, meditation, nutrition and practical application of yoga philosophy, approached with a therapeutic lens.

About your instructor - Angela

Angela is a trained and certified Yoga Alliance RYT-500 Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist through the world’s oldest yoga institute - The Yoga Institute, Mumbai, India.

She has also completed training in Advanced Pranayama techniques (The Yoga Institute Mumbai), Naturopathy and Yogic Science (IGMPI, New Delhi), and completed workshops and further training on specialised areas such as Yoga for Menopause,  Knee Pain, Shoulder Pain and Cervical Pain.

She has completed studies through the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, United Kingdom in Sanskrit, Yoga Sutras and Study of Dharma, and continues her studies ongoing in Sanskrit, Bhagavad Gita and Advaita Vedanta.

Her approach is based on the ethos of The Yoga Institute, which emphasises yoga for all ages, abilities and bodies, and yoga for overall good health and a positive life outlook, utilising practical and accessible techniques for physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Her group and private classes and specialised workshops combine physical movement, breathing exercises and relaxation to support individuals on a journey towards a healthy body and mind and holistic wellbeing.

She was first introduced to yoga way back in 2001 at the Indian Cultural Centre in Doha, Qatar and took a long detour through roles in the private sector, media, state government and NGOs, where she worked across areas such as technology, research and multicultural communications and outreach. She has lived across Asia, Europe, The Middle East and India.

These days, she is pursuing her love of teaching yoga and guiding people from all walks of life towards good health and a happy life.
